The selected candidate will be part of a dynamic team that drives innovation and operational excellence. This role involves planning, directing, and coordinating projects related to the design, construction, and enhancement of our manufacturing and office facilities.
Key Responsibilities:

- Design and oversee plant layouts, ensuring optimal machine placement and utility provisions for future expansion.
- Manage both internal and external teams to install, maintain, and enhance mechanical, electrical, and safety systems within a large-scale manufacturing environment.
- Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to monitor equipment performance, implementing strategies to minimize unplanned downtime through effective maintenance programs.
- Contribute to manufacturing enhancements by applying principles of 5S, SMED, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and Lean methodologies.
- Identify and initiate process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and product quality.
- Oversee capital improvement projects, including machinery installation and facility renovations.
- Analyze performance data to provide recommendations for equipment upgrades and replacements.
- Review architectural designs and track project progress to ensure alignment with company standards.
- Evaluate the feasibility of new equipment designs or modifications to existing facilities, considering various technical and economic factors.
- Prepare documentation for construction bids and contracts.
- Assess manufacturing processes through research and collaboration with equipment vendors and operators.
- Enhance manufacturing efficiency by optimizing workflow and equipment layout.
- Evaluate maintenance programs to ensure minimal equipment downtime through effective preventative strategies.
- Provide engineering support by addressing inquiries and requests from various departments.
- Collaborate with vendors to establish product specifications and ensure quality standards are met.
- Conduct tests on newly installed equipment to verify compliance with contract specifications.
- Maintain professional development through workshops, publications, and networking within professional organizations.
- Foster interdepartmental collaboration to enhance workflow and project outcomes.
- Contribute to team objectives by achieving related results as necessary.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the Silfex Manufacturing System and Quality Management System, applying relevant procedures effectively.
- Ensure all tasks are performed safely, reporting any hazardous conditions to management.
- Engage in special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience with a minimum of 12 years in the field.
- Experience in a hazardous chemical environment and ability to wear appropriate PPE.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex documents.
- Proven experience in facilities design and operations within a large manufacturing context.
- Minimum of five years of experience collaborating with engineers and contractors to resolve manufacturing and facilities challenges.
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a zero-accident safety culture.
- Experience in implementing continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S, TPM, and Lean.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in software applications relevant to engineering and manufacturing.
- Active participation in emergency response initiatives is required.
