Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert technical support to our EDM/CNC machining operations.
  • Work collaboratively with operational, maintenance, and quality teams to enhance existing machining processes, resolve issues, and innovate new machining applications.
  • Lead initiatives for continuous improvement, focusing on safety, quality, delivery, and productivity metrics.
  • Partner with operation and maintenance teams to support production parts, ensuring technical leadership in EDM cells, qualifying and troubleshooting machinery, and maintaining necessary documentation.
  • Establish process parameters for new components introduced into production.
  • Analyze machine performance data to identify opportunities for process and product enhancements.
  • Refine toolpaths and drilling parameters to achieve efficient and high-quality machining outcomes.
  • Oversee project planning, budget creation, cost-saving initiatives, and Return on Investment to align with Annual Operating Plans, ensuring accountability for timely project execution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet organizational objectives.
  • Define critical quality process parameters and collaborate with manufacturing to establish process controls that ensure optimal EDM operations.
  • Assess new tool capabilities and adapt existing tools for new product processing to fulfill customer specifications.
  • Develop and maintain process capability and control, ensuring repeatability and stability through Statistical Process Control (SPC), engineering controls, and effective process management techniques.
  • Acquire and apply knowledge of the Silfex Quality Management System, adhering to Quality Procedures and Operating Procedures.

Qualifications:

To excel in this position, candidates must demonstrate the following:

  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with at least 6 years of related experience.
  • Proven experience in problem-solving within complex systems alongside cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis tools (e.g., JMP, Minitab) and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Experience in developing control plans and procedures.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Strong grasp of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and continuous improvement strategies.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance tools and methods applicable to manufacturing processes (e.g., DMAIC, 8D, GRR).
  • Experience working in collaborative, matrixed environments with diverse teams, semiconductor clients, and partners.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Experience with machining silicon or other hard, brittle materials is advantageous.
  • Proficient in project planning, budget management, and Return on Investment analysis to meet Annual Operating Plans, with a commitment to deliverables and accountability for project timelines and budgets.

Physical Requirements:
