Risk Management Director

Overview:
Hospital for Special Surgery is seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Director to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for identifying and mitigating risks that could impact our patients, staff, and operations.
Responsibilities:
- Review occurrence reports and enter relevant information into our database.
- Investigate adverse events and evaluate liability exposure.
- Manage the agenda for our monthly suits, claims, and events meeting.
- Provide written reports on suits, claims, or events, including assessing and organizing medical reports.
- Act as a resource person for hospital employees on risk management issues.
- Investigate patient complaints with potential liability exposure.
- Participate in committees addressing risk management implications.
- Provide risk management educational sessions to departments or units.
- Assist in the interpretation and understanding of medical aspects of malpractice claims.
- Manage special projects for risk management and MIAC.
Qualifications:
- RN, PA, or similar clinical degree.
- 5 years of experience in hospital risk management, quality, or a similar leadership role.
- Ability to present to large and small groups.
- Organized, forward-thinking individual with excellent writing skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Establish excellent relationships with physicians, senior management, and front-line staff.
- Team player and leader with the ability to maintain a level head under pressure.
Pay Range: $170,000 - $195,000 per year.
