Risk Management Director

Citi is seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Director to join our team. As a key member of our Credit Risk Management group, you will be responsible for managing and monitoring a portfolio of leveraged finance names, including quarterly and annual reviews, risk rating accuracy, and ongoing determination of emerging risks.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in credit and structuring, with at least 10 years of experience in a complex, matrixed organization focused on credit approval, governance, controls, and risk management. They will also have a proven track record of successful risk management roles, spanning a range of products, industries, and geographies.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing screening/reviews and approvals for non-investment grade holds and underwritings
- Evaluating complex deal structures across industries in the context of prevailing capital market conditions
- Making recommendations on transactions above specified amounts to senior management regarding credit approvals and declines
- Monitoring the leveraged loan and high yield portfolio with focus on timely syndication of underwritten positions, performance, and classification of hold book and hedging of outsized or underperforming assets
- Coordinating with the Leveraged Finance Underwriting Group (LFU) on portfolio management and reporting
The successful candidate will be a strong leader with excellent credit judgment, a deep understanding of regulatory expectations, and a commitment to independent views and transparency in decision-making.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Senior Credit Officer (or external equivalent) approval authority with at least 10 years of experience in credit and structuring
- Experience in a complex, matrixed organization focused on credit approval, governance, controls, and risk management at a top-tier institution
- Multiple, successful risk management roles over time spanning a range of products, industries, and geographies
- Strong knowledge of corporate finance concepts and leveraged finance experience
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in business, finance, or a related field
