Director of Risk Management

As a Director of Control Management Risk Assessment, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness of our control management processes and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate operational risks and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Lead a team of risk management professionals in conducting risk assessments, identifying control gaps, and developing remediation plans.
- Collaborate with business units and functional areas to implement control enhancements and monitor their effectiveness.
- Provide risk management guidance and support to business leaders and stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain risk management policies, procedures, and standards.
- Identify and assess emerging risks and develop strategies to mitigate their impact.
- 6+ years of experience in operational risk management, with a strong understanding of risk management principles and practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with senior business leaders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and identify trends.
- Experience in financial services industry, with knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or related field.
- Advanced degrees or certifications in risk management or a related field.
- Experience in risk assessment, control monitoring, and risk reporting.
We offer a competitive salary range of $130,000 to $205,000 annually, plus bonus, equity (if applicable), and benefits. Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required.
