Job Overview

360 Talent Avenue is collaborating with a prominent manufacturer in the electrical components sector, searching for a skilled Financial Operations Manager. This pivotal role encompasses essential financial functions, the preparation of financial reports, operational assessments, and management of working capital, all aimed at guiding management within a manufacturing context.

The Financial Operations Manager will work closely with the CFO and Plant General Managers to uphold the financial integrity and compliance of the organization.

Position Type: Direct hire opportunity with our esteemed client.

Candidate Profile: Ideal candidates will possess a robust background in financial leadership within manufacturing environments. Comfort in production settings is essential, as is the ability to collaborate with leadership to positively influence financial outcomes while managing various accounting responsibilities, including costing, accounts receivable/payable, and payroll.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the CFO to set financial and operational benchmarks, budgets, and reporting standards on a monthly and annual basis.
  • Lead a team across multiple locations responsible for traditional accounts receivable and payable functions, monthly closings, budget forecasting, and cost analysis.
  • Conduct variance analysis, product costing, and inventory assessments.
  • Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems to ensure adherence to GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Manage the annual budgeting process, including capital budgeting and quarterly forecasts, while identifying and explaining variances.
  • Establish key performance indicators based on sound financial management principles, providing proactive insights to operational management.
  • Analyze performance against operational plans and standards; prepare reports and interpret operational results for management at all levels.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of cost models to identify and track cost reduction opportunities.
  • Prepare analyses related to labor productivity, job costing, and work-in-progress balances, ensuring accurate costing and margin assessments.
  • Oversee daily cash management and treasury functions, ensuring positive account balances.
  • Mentor and manage accounting staff, ensuring task execution and professional growth.
  • Partner with production and manufacturing leaders across various sites, sharing financial insights and evaluating profitability and KPI performance.
  • Review site outcomes, providing recommendations to enhance profitability and collaborating on solutions.
  • Evaluate and enhance financial processes within the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce reports, business correspondence, and procedural documentation.
  • Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple ongoing projects, ensuring effective implementation within designated timelines and budgets.
  • Proficient in Excel, including the ability to model complex business scenarios, budgets, and financial calculations.
  • Strong oversight of general ledger balances, detailed reconciliations, and internal controls.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of financial experience in a manufacturing environment.
