About the Role

Personnel Services Unlimited is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team in Shelby, NC. This full-time, long-term opportunity involves managing billing and accounting operations, as well as assisting the Director of Financial Services with other accounting tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Billing and Accounting Management: Oversee all billing and accounting activities, ensuring timely and accurate processing of financial transactions.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and reports to provide insights into the company's financial performance.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate billing details with facility Business Office Managers (BOM) and corporate billers, ensuring seamless communication and resolution of any issues.
  • Financial Analysis: Reconcile monthly workbooks to system reports, investigate payment variances, and research denials to optimize financial performance.
  • Time Management: Ensure timely payments to facilities and resolve open balances, while also updating facility reimbursement rate worksheets quarterly.
  • Financial Data Management: Compile credit balance information for required reporting and assist with revenue/expense analysis and variance explanations.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, etc.), proficiency in Microsoft Office, and experience with financial statements and journal entries.
  • Experience: 5+ years of billing experience preferred, with strong attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Core Competencies: Effective communication and customer service orientation, strong organizational and critical thinking abilities, and ability to work flexibly to meet deadlines.
Work Environment
  • Office Environment: Work in a moderate noise level office environment, with regular sitting, use of hands, and talking on the phone.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift/move up to 20 pounds regularly and up to 40 pounds occasionally, with visual acuity for reading and computer work.
