Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Financial Operations Associate to join our team at Vaco. This role is essential in supporting our financial processes and ensuring the smooth operation of our accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the management of financial operations, including the processing of receivables and payables.
  • Develop and uphold a structured approach to accounting practices and policies.
  • Work closely with the Chief Financial Officer to prepare and compile financial reports for assessment.
  • Conduct inquiries into account transactions as necessary.
  • Engage in the preparation for annual audits and contribute to various accounting initiatives.
  • Support human resources activities throughout the employee lifecycle, adhering to best practices.
  • Oversee payroll functions, ensuring the precision of employee data.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders with timely responses.
  • Address special requests from executive leadership as needed.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related discipline is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience is necessary.
  • Experience within nonprofit sectors is considered a plus.
Preferred Competencies:
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, accounting principles, and compliance regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and various accounting software applications.
  • Familiarity with Sage/Abila and database management systems is advantageous.
  • Understanding of federal and state employment regulations is beneficial.
