Position Summary

The Prime Video on Fire TV team is in search of a skilled and motivated Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) to evaluate groundbreaking features for the Prime Video experience on Fire TV.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with Software Development Engineers to gain insights into features and technical implementations.
  • Engage in the development of new features for the Prime Video experience on Fire TV while advancing your career.
  • Work alongside product managers and user experience designers to comprehend customer usage patterns and create test plans and suites that reflect real-world scenarios and regression tests.
  • Integrate quality assurance throughout all stages of the software development lifecycle.
  • Participate in release and feature sign-offs to uphold the high-quality standards of our products.
  • Propose enhancements to existing processes and automated tools to boost the team's speed, quality, and efficiency.
  • Implement test automation across various platforms and devices.

A Day in the Life

Our QA Engineers conduct testing at the user level, utilizing both manual and automated tools. We employ black box, gray box, and white box testing methodologies; you will be expected to understand software internals, troubleshoot issues using log files, and develop automated tests or user-level test automation tools.

About the Team

The Prime Video Fire TV team is accountable for the browsing and discovery experiences on Fire TV. As part of the broader Prime Video organization, we deliver high-quality premium video content through subscriptions, purchases, and rentals. In this role, you will collaborate with a small group of engineers to lead the design and implementation of Android and React Native client features that support Prime Video on Fire TV.

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in quality assurance engineering.
  • 4+ years of experience in delivering test frameworks, tools, and leading QA projects and initiatives.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Proficient knowledge of QA methodologies and tools, with proven experience in a QAE role.
  • Experience in manual testing.
  • Experience in automation testing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in UI Automation, preferably on mobile platforms.
  • Familiarity with at least one modern object-oriented programming language such as C++, Java, or Objective C.
