Quality Assurance Engineer - On-site at GForce Life Sciences

This role requires the candidate to work on a W2 basis.

The successful applicant will assume a pivotal technical position in the development of an advanced surgical robotic system. Collaborating with a team of quality assurance engineers and software developers, the engineer will be tasked with software verification and validation (V&V) activities, including the design, development, and execution of test protocols for the functional verification of sophisticated robotic surgical systems.

Key Responsibilities


• Design, develop, and supervise the execution of test protocols for functional software verification of complex robotic surgical systems; may involve hands-on execution of test protocols or utilization of a Test Management Application.


• Prepare comprehensive documentation for test protocols, outcomes, and reports.


• As necessary, create tests and scripts to automate the testing process at a system level.


• As necessary, develop software tests at a module level using Python or other scripting languages.


• Record issues identified within the issue tracking system; collaborate with software and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot.


• Conduct ongoing testing for basic sanity checks and release acceptance testing.


• Verify issues during formal verification processes.

Required Skills and Experience


• Ability to operate with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment.


• Strong time management and prioritization capabilities.


• Analytical mindset with the ability to systematically deconstruct a system or process to identify failure mechanisms.


• Background in engineering, software quality assurance, or software testing with proven expertise in V&V execution.


• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.


• Detail-oriented with a strong troubleshooting mindset.

Education and Training Requirements


• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related fields is preferred, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Skills and Experience


• Familiarity with complex embedded systems, robotics, and real-time operating systems, as well as experience with Linux and QNX.


• Knowledge of Medical Design Control processes.


• Experience with bug tracking tools.


• Familiarity with requirements management tools.


• Experience with test management tools.


• Software programming experience in C or C++.


• Proficiency with automated testing tools.


• Experience in scripting for the generation of automated tests.
