Job Overview

Position Summary

The Billing Support Representative plays a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service within the Revenue Cycle Operations. This position is dedicated to addressing patient billing inquiries and ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement from insurance providers, as well as managing patient self-pay responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough research and analysis on internal requests for billing adjustments, including credit card refund requests of $500 or less, ensuring compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Engage with insurance providers to communicate desired outcomes effectively.
  • Identify and escalate actions that require the involvement of other Revenue Cycle Operations teams, such as insurance appeals and workers' compensation cases, while documenting the process for follow-up.
  • Adhere to all contractual obligations and maintain compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Provide consistent follow-up on inquiries requiring responses from patients or external entities.
  • Respond to requests for information and demonstrate proficiency in locating necessary answers.

Qualifications

  • Exhibit a track record of meeting or exceeding established productivity and quality goals.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in navigating systems essential for researching and resolving billing inquiries.
  • Showcase resourcefulness and fluency in addressing complex billing issues.
  • Possess strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Have a foundational understanding of healthcare billing terminology and processes, including EOBs, insurance adjudication, and patient financial responsibilities.
