Role Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the senior leadership team to align 1910's corporate strategy with a human resources strategy that effectively supports the company's mission and vision.
- Act as a strategic advisor on human capital matters to the senior leadership team.
- Engage as a strategic partner in shaping 1910's initiatives, focusing on their impact on personnel; provide guidance on programs aimed at attracting, developing, and retaining top talent.
- Develop a comprehensive company handbook outlining policies, procedures, and behavioral expectations for employees.
- Identify key business drivers and ensure that effective HR initiatives are implemented to enhance business performance.
- Create thorough onboarding and orientation programs to facilitate a seamless integration experience for new hires.
- Monitor market trends in compensation and benefits; design and enhance forward-thinking compensation and benefits programs to motivate and support high performers.
- Champion initiatives to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion within the workforce.
- Establish and maintain effective employee communication channels, including measuring engagement and gathering feedback.
- Serve as a resource for resolving personnel-related issues and provide appropriate corrective actions when necessary.
- Continuously assess and improve HR services and processes across all activities.
- Utilize HR metrics and dashboards to track performance against targets and support informed decision-making.
- Oversee payroll, timekeeping, and compliance with government-mandated benefits; ensure adherence to company policies and legal requirements.
- Collaborate with legal teams to develop and implement employee compliance initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in human resource management, organizational development, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in leading a successful HR department within a people-centric organization in the life sciences or biotech sector.
- Proven ability to develop and implement people-focused strategies that align with business objectives.
- Extensive experience guiding senior management through organizational change and fostering a performance-driven culture.
- Familiarity with human resources systems and processing software.
- Proficient in handling confidential information with professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a rapidly growing biotech or life sciences startup is advantageous.
