Position Overview: The role entails the strategic planning, coordination, and development of a tailored Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Plan that aligns with the necessary policies and procedures to ensure project compliance with contractual obligations. This position involves overseeing the execution of the QA/QC Plan and managing the QA/QC team effectively.

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Project Manager or Project Executive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a project-specific QA/QC Plan in collaboration with the project team and stakeholders.
  • Ensure the assignment of qualified personnel to meet the expertise required for effective plan execution.
  • Foster a cooperative relationship with all project participants, including owners, architects, and subcontractors, to ensure compliance with the QA/QC Plan.
  • Lead and mentor QA/QC staff, providing guidance and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Uphold ethical standards and compliance at all times.
  • Acquire a thorough understanding of contract documents, including plans and specifications.
  • Establish engineering procedures for document control, submissions management, and tracking of Requests For Information (RFIs) and change orders.
  • Integrate the QA/QC Plan with the project safety plan.
  • Coordinate QA/QC activities in accordance with the project execution plan and schedule.
  • Continuously enhance strategies for documenting and tracking compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Engage all project staff and stakeholders in the execution of the QA/QC Plan.
  • Conduct inspections and testing, including coordinating third-party evaluations and reporting findings.
  • Adapt and expand the QA/QC Plan as the project evolves to improve procedures.
  • Direct the identification and rectification of non-compliant materials and workmanship, ensuring documentation of compliance post-correction.
  • Research and implement additional QA/QC methodologies to elevate project quality.
  • Oversee project close-out processes and quality reporting.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree combined with a minimum of five years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in construction, covering both field and engineering aspects. Proficiency in construction processes, materials, and installation techniques is essential. Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite, and familiarity with project management software are required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with proven leadership capabilities and a commitment to mentoring staff, are crucial. QA/QC certification may be necessary based on project specifics.

Physical Requirements: The role demands physical capabilities typical of construction environments, including the ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds and perform various physical tasks. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
