Quality Control Manager

Overview: The Quality Control Manager will spearhead and facilitate quality enhancement initiatives while ensuring adherence to both national and international standards. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in quality assurance processes, laboratory evaluations, and project oversight. This position demands exceptional leadership capabilities, meticulous attention to detail, and a steadfast commitment to upholding superior product quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

· Direct and oversee the Quality Control division, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and regulatory mandates.

· Comprehend client expectations and requirements, effectively communicating these along with quality benchmarks to production teams.

· Establish and uphold quality controls and documentation practices.

· Innovate methods to enhance the manufacturing process for improved product quality.

· Develop, refine, and assess new specifications and procedures for products or processes, training personnel in their application.

· Mentor and cultivate a proficient and effective quality team.

· Collaborate with production staff to define processes and procedures.

· Ensure tests and procedures are comprehensively understood, executed, and evaluated.

· Enhance product quality through audits, investigation of customer feedback, and collaboration with management to create new processes and training methodologies.

· Validate quality processes by setting product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualifications; and updating quality assurance protocols.

· Compile quality documentation and reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, including process failures, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions, and re-validations.

· Adhere to deadlines for product delivery.

· Ensure compliance with legal obligations and regulatory bodies, as well as health and safety guidelines.

· Supervise product development procedures to identify any discrepancies from quality standards.

· Inspect final outputs, comparing them to requirements, and approve or reject products accordingly.

· Establish and enforce health and safety standards during operational activities.

· Gather client feedback, participate in meetings, submit reports, and assist external auditors and inspectors.

· Manage technicians to ensure adherence to established quality procedures.

· Follow quality Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

· Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications: To successfully execute this role, an individual must possess:

· A four-year advanced degree or equivalent experience.

· Over eight years of experience in quality control and assurance, preferably within a manufacturing context.

· Proven track record in team management and implementation of quality control systems.

· Strong attention to detail, observational, organizational, and leadership skills.

· Comprehensive knowledge of quality control procedures and legal standards.

· Proficiency in mathematics, data analysis, and statistical methodologies.

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

· Proficiency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.

· Strong verbal, written, and computer skills.

· Exceptional communication and listening abilities.

· Experience with measurement equipment, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and quality systems.

· Familiarity with basic lean manufacturing tools (green or black belt preferred).

· Knowledge of laboratory equipment and testing methodologies.

· Experience with ISO or ANSI standards.
