The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) plays a pivotal role in facilitating scientific discussions with healthcare leaders, including Regional and National Thought Leaders, and Healthcare Professionals within a designated area. The MSL's mission is to bridge the gap between scientific research and clinical practice, ensuring that medical insights are effectively communicated and utilized.

Key Responsibilities:

Medical Engagement:

  • Foster collaborative relationships with Thought Leaders to gather insights that inform medical strategies and product launches.
  • Engage in scientific dialogue to develop comprehensive medical plans that align with product and disease area objectives.
  • Collaborate with medical societies and advocacy groups to enhance understanding and support for our initiatives.
  • Provide training and support for external speakers as necessary.
  • Strategically interact with payers during critical phases of product development.
  • Address unsolicited inquiries from healthcare professionals in real-time, both in-person and through virtual platforms.
  • Build and maintain strong connections with key Thought Leaders through high-quality scientific discussions.
  • Document interactions and achieve established goals effectively.
  • Utilize digital tools to enhance medical engagement.

Clinical Trial Collaboration:

  • Offer insights to clinical development teams regarding study feasibility based on field knowledge and investigator relationships.
  • Liaise with major accounts to identify barriers to patient access and ensure equitable participation in clinical trials.
  • Lead discussions on significant clinical trial findings with investigators.
  • Support research studies by identifying potential sites and facilitating patient recruitment.
  • Ensure compliance with pharmacovigilance protocols and report any adverse events as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (MD, PharmD, PhD) with relevant experience in a specific therapeutic area or pharmaceutical environment.
  • Proven experience in a scientific or clinical research setting, with a preference for field medical expertise.
  • Strong understanding of the needs and dynamics within the healthcare landscape.
