EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:

Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Management, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience recognized by Capital Farm Credit.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a lending role, such as a loan officer or similar position, or relevant experience as assessed by Capital Farm Credit. Exceptional skills in business development complemented by sound credit knowledge aimed at enhancing a portfolio with quality loans.

Demonstrated customer service excellence to bolster business development efforts.

Capability to evaluate risk and provide informed recommendations on the approval of commercial or real estate loans.

Maintains good standing in current and/or previous employment.

A strong work ethic that supports the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently and accurately.

Registration as a Mortgage Loan Officer under the National Mortgage Licensing System will be required.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accountable for generating new business within the designated office while also servicing existing commercial and real estate clients.

Evaluates loan analyses in accordance with the association's guidelines and policies, processes, and approves loan applications within the limits of delegated authority.

Prepares and submits loan requests that exceed delegated authority to the appropriate management level along with recommendations for approval or denial.

Collaborates with other association personnel, including credit analysts, on loans that exceed delegated authority.

Establishes and nurtures business relationships with agricultural producers, rural landowners, and community business leaders to expand lending opportunities.

Represents the association at local and regional community and market-related events. Promotes the association by fostering positive public and member relations and participating in corporate functions.


Manages and services leases and loans for operational equipment and real estate, while also offering related services such as cash management products and crop insurance within delegated authority and in compliance with association policies.

Makes and/or communicates decisions regarding loan approval, structure, and pricing. Responsible for exercising credit risk management on loans within the designated area of responsibility.

Determines eligibility and scope of financing for all new loans and ensures verification of assets and liabilities. Secures background and credit history on new loans, repeat loans, and renewals. Evaluates loan collateral in accordance with association policies and procedures. Works with the loan process to ensure proper lien perfection on all collateral.

Develops proficiency in simple to moderately complex credit analyses. Reviews balance sheets, income statements, and cash flows of potential borrowers to assess creditworthiness.

Collaborates with credit analysts on loans in process and maintains current, adequate, and verified financial information on borrowers and guarantors as required by the association.


Performs loan servicing tasks, which may include partial releases, reamortizations, assumptions, additional advances, extensions, conversions, insurance claims, subordination to mineral leases, and right-of-way agreements.


Ensures that all assigned loans are accurately risk-rated, with correct assigned loss given defaults and proper performance status assignments.

Adheres to appropriate credit administration practices as outlined in the association's policies and procedures.

Assists staff and management with collections on all loans in the portfolio. Works with delinquent borrowers to achieve satisfactory loan performance.

Ensures compliance with loan covenants as required.


Assists with the title examination process on prospective loans to verify the validity of liens on property pledged as collateral or security interest on chattels.

Reviews loan closing packages and facilitates the loan closing process as required in accordance with all applicable association and FCA policies and regulations.

General understanding of accounting and financial systems

Ability to perform intermediate-level accounting and financial analysis under moderate supervision
