Job Overview

As a Custodial Services Specialist, you will be responsible for performing essential cleaning and maintenance tasks within designated facilities. This role involves ensuring that the environment remains clean, safe, and welcoming for all employees and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Execute general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and window cleaning.
  2. Maintain restrooms by replenishing supplies and utilizing appropriate cleaning agents.
  3. Thoroughly clean office furniture, walls, and windows; manage waste disposal effectively.
  4. Disinfect and sanitize various areas such as restrooms and offices.
  5. Oversee carpet maintenance and care.
  6. Handle cleaning of drapes and upholstery, as well as repair tasks for blinds and curtain rods.
  7. Assist with furniture relocation for cleaning purposes or special events.
  8. Operate floor maintenance machinery, including buffers and vacuums.
  9. Perform minor repairs on custodial equipment as needed.
  10. Manage custodial supply inventory and restock as necessary.
  11. Conduct limited outdoor maintenance tasks, such as mowing and trash collection.
  12. Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience: A minimum of six months of relevant experience in custodial work is preferred.

Licensure: A valid driver’s license from your state of residence is required.

Knowledge Requirements:

  • Familiarity with cleaning techniques and procedures.
  • Understanding of inventory management principles.
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply regulations and guidelines relevant to the role.

Skills:

  • Proficient in operating standard office software for timekeeping and communication.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

Physical Requirements:

The role requires physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting weights up to fifty pounds.

Work Environment:

Work will be conducted in both indoor and outdoor settings, with seasonal variations.

Note: This position may require availability for after-hours and weekend work for special projects.
