Custody Services Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Custody Services Specialist to join our team at the Treasury Safekeeping Trust Company. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will be responsible for performing complex accounting work associated with the reconciliation of securities and mutual funds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reconcile transactions and holdings of equity securities and mutual funds to account balances in SimCorp Dimension.
  • Audit, reconcile, and resolve exceptions for Unclaimed Property securities.
  • Respond to research requests on securities holdings submitted by the CPA Unclaimed Property Division.
  • Consult with sub-custodians and holders in the opening of new accounts and the remittance of reported securities.
  • Maintain accurate up-to-date written procedures and process checklists, including an annual compliance procedure review.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • Four years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Reconciling accounting figures or financial records, Analyzing data, Verifying data.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Securities Operations, Mutual Fund Operations, Transfer Agent Operations, Trust Operations, Banking Operations, Brokerage Operations, Investment Accounting, Institutional Accounting Systems, Custody Systems, Unclaimed Property Programs and/or Systems.

Substitution

  • Experience and education may substitute for one another on a year-for-year basis up to two years.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Certification as a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) and/or Certified Securities Operations Professional (CSOP) preferred.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a dual-control environment.
  • Ability to maintain high standards despite pressing deadlines.
