Role Summary

Reporting to the Associate Director of eCTW, the Project Manager will spearhead eCTW initiatives to ensure effective and timely project execution. This role involves managing and guiding cross-functional teams to deliver a portfolio of projects within budgetary constraints.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee intricate projects through design, prototyping, and the assembly of manufacturing equipment.
- Initiate, plan, execute, monitor, control, and finalize projects.
- Facilitate eCTW agile meetings and manage weekly deliverables.
- Assist in resource allocation and prioritization efforts.
- Develop and maintain project management dashboards.
- Influence team members who are not direct reports.
- Prepare capital proposals and manage both capital and operational budgets.
- Create project timelines that interlink various components of custom automation, injection molding, facility modifications, and training for both direct and indirect staff.
- Demonstrate a proven track record in launching new assembly lines.
- Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to coordinate resources effectively to meet project and business objectives.
- Provide timely status updates to management.
- Adhere to division policies and guidelines.

Knowledge & Problem Solving

Utilize extensive technical expertise in assembly process technology and possess a comprehensive understanding of other process technologies. Develop innovative solutions to complex challenges requiring creativity and ingenuity.

Guide the successful completion of programs, potentially taking on a project leadership role. Poor decisions could hinder the achievement of major objectives.

Exhibit a thorough understanding of a wide range of technical principles, theories, and concepts in manufacturing process technology, along with general knowledge of other process technologies. Provide technical solutions to a variety of challenging problems, ensuring solutions are imaginative, comprehensive, and practical.

Lead the development of high-volume assembly processes, including pilot production, process feasibility, optimization, and validation.

Oversee the procurement of production equipment, developing specifications and acceptance protocols.

Manage vendor relationships in the design, development, and implementation of manufacturing equipment.

Apply six-sigma and lean manufacturing methodologies to optimize equipment performance.

Develop processes through experimental testing, data analysis, report preparation, and recommendations.

Implement BD-standardized manufacturing technologies.

Discretion & Autonomy

Work independently with minimal supervision, exercising significant discretion in determining technical objectives.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience in high-volume automated manufacturing equipment, preferably in the medical device sector.
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience required; Agile experience is a plus.
- Proven experience leading teams through all project phases, including brainstorming, scoping, budgeting, specification writing, vendor management, installation coordination, and validation processes.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and MS Project.
