Key Responsibilities
+ Oversee intricate projects throughout the design, prototype, construction, and commercialization phases of assembly equipment.
+ Initiate, plan, execute, monitor, control, and finalize these projects.
+ Facilitate agile meetings and manage weekly deliverables for the team.
+ Assist in resource allocation and prioritization efforts.
+ Create and maintain project management dashboards.
+ Influence team members who are not direct reports effectively.
+ Write capital proposals and manage both capital and operational budgets.
+ Develop project timelines that interconnect various elements of custom automation, injection molding, facility modifications, and training for both direct and indirect staff.
+ Demonstrate proven success in launching new assembly lines.
+ Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to coordinate resources and achieve project and business objectives.
+ Provide timely status updates to management.
+ Adhere to division policies and guidelines.
+ Exhibit strong communication skills.
Knowledge & Problem Solving
+ Utilize extensive technical expertise in assembly process technology, coupled with a broad understanding of other process technologies. Develop innovative solutions to complex challenges requiring creativity and resourcefulness.
+ Guide the successful execution of programs and may take on a project leadership role. Inaccurate decisions or recommendations could lead to significant setbacks.
+ Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of a wide range of technical principles, theories, and concepts in manufacturing process technology, with a general understanding of other process technologies. Provide effective solutions to a variety of challenging problems.
+ Lead the development of high-volume assembly processes, including pilot production, feasibility studies, optimization, and validation.
+ Direct the procurement of production equipment, developing specifications and acceptance criteria.
+ Manage vendor relationships in the design, development, and implementation of manufacturing equipment.
+ Apply six-sigma and lean manufacturing methodologies to enhance manufacturing equipment efficiency.
+ Develop processes through experimental testing, data analysis, report preparation, and recommendations.
+ Implement BD-standardized manufacturing technologies.
Discretion & Autonomy
+ Work is conducted with minimal supervision, allowing for significant latitude in determining technical objectives.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
+ At least 5 years of relevant experience or a combination of equivalent education and experience in high-volume automated manufacturing equipment, preferably in the medical device sector.
+ A minimum of 5 years of project management experience is required; Agile experience is a plus.
+ Proven experience leading teams through all project phases, including brainstorming, scoping, budgeting, specification writing, vendor management, installation coordination, and validation processes.
+ Proficient in Word, Excel, and MS Project.
