Salary:
Strategic Development Coordinator

**This is a Part Time AmeriCorps position. While most work will be conducted remotely, occasional in-person meetings and retreats may be required. We welcome applicants from various service locations.**

Role Summary

The Strategic Development Coordinator is dedicated to initiatives that will enhance the capacity of DREAM to engage with new youth populations. This role is accountable for the creation and execution of effective business frameworks aimed at boosting organizational efficiency, improving internal communication, and strengthening relationships among all stakeholders.

Organizational Mission

The DREAM Program is devoted to dismantling oppressive systems impacting our youth and families. This commitment necessitates that members enter this environment with a mindset geared towards learning, unlearning, and actively contributing to DREAM's mission of bridging the Opportunity Gap while addressing systemic inequities. Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and implement opportunities for enhancing existing workflows and operational processes.
  • Research and propose new software solutions to improve operational and programmatic efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to ensure the smooth integration of new systems.
  • Evaluate current program processes to pinpoint areas for enhancement.
  • Research and develop best practices for internal systems to optimize resource utilization.
  • Create tools, templates, and guidelines to support effective operational discussions.
Required Qualifications:
  • Experience working with youth.
  • Commitment to serving as a positive role model for youth.
  • Passion for advancing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives.
  • Experience in diverse and inclusive environments with a strong awareness of social equity and justice issues.
  • Demonstrated experience or education in serving diverse communities respectfully and equitably.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks while considering the needs of those served, team members, and the organization.
  • Access to necessary resources for remote work (e.g., reliable internet connection).
  • Willingness to meet in person with your team or service assignment as required.
  • Access to a reliable phone.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed behavior management and restorative practices.
  • Previous leadership experience with peers.

Requirements:
  • Commitment to the full service term as outlined in your offer.
  • Alignment with the mission of AmeriCorps and DREAM.
  • Desire to enhance and develop skills necessary for service.
  • Must be a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the U.S.A.
  • Minimum age of 17 at the start of service or 16 if participating in an out-of-school youth program.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or agreement to obtain one prior to using the education award.
  • Agreement to undergo Criminal History Checks as part of the AmeriCorps membership process.
Work Environment:

This position involves working in various settings, including professional office environments and outdoor spaces with active youth. The role requires regular use of computers and standard office equipment, as well as equipment typical of youth camps.

Physical Demands:
  • Comfort in outdoor environments, regardless of weather conditions.
  • Ability to perform physical activities such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting items over 50 pounds.
  • Regular communication with individuals requiring effective hearing and speaking abilities.
  • Visual acuity for close and distance vision, color perception, and depth perception.
Travel:

Travel may include local and occasional interregional visits for program-related activities.
