Strategic Development Coordinator
**This is a Part Time AmeriCorps position. Most work will be conducted remotely, with occasional in-person meetings and retreats required. We welcome applicants from various service locations.**
Role Summary
The Strategic Development Coordinator plays a crucial role in advancing the mission of DREAM by managing special initiatives aimed at expanding our outreach to new youth. This position is tasked with the creation and execution of effective business frameworks that enhance operational efficiency, improve internal communication, and strengthen relationships among all stakeholders.
Organizational Mission
The DREAM Program is dedicated to dismantling oppressive systems that impact our youth and their families. Members are expected to engage in a process of learning and unlearning, contributing actively to our mission of closing the Opportunity Gap while addressing systemic inequities. Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and implement improvements to streamline existing workflows and processes.
- Research and recommend innovative software solutions to enhance operational and programmatic efficiency.
- Collaborate with diverse teams to ensure smooth integration of new systems.
- Evaluate current program processes to pinpoint areas for enhancement.
- Research and establish best practices for internal systems to optimize resource utilization.
- Create tools, templates, and guidelines to support effective operational discussions.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience working with youth.
- Commitment to serving as a positive role model for youth.
- Passion for advancing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives.
- Experience in diverse and inclusive environments, with a strong awareness of social equity issues.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and prioritize responsibilities.
- Access to necessary resources for remote work, including reliable internet connectivity.
- Ability to meet in person with team members as required.
- Access to a reliable phone.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and restorative approaches.
- Previous leadership experience among peers.

AmeriCorps Member Requirements:
- Commitment to the full service term as specified in the offer.
- Alignment with the mission of AmeriCorps and DREAM.
- Willingness to develop existing skills and acquire new ones for effective service.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.
- Minimum age of 17 at the start of service or be an eligible out-of-school youth.
- Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent, or agreement to obtain one prior to using the education award.
- Agreement to undergo necessary background checks.
Work Environment: This role involves working in various settings, including professional office environments and outdoor spaces with active youth. Regular use of computers and standard office equipment is required.
Physical Demands: This position requires the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, engage in physical activities, and occasionally lift items over 50 pounds.
Travel Requirements: Local travel may be necessary, along with occasional interregional travel for events and retreats.
