Job Summary:

WNY Independent Living Inc. is seeking a qualified Family Support Specialist to join our team. As a Family Support Specialist, you will provide information, resources, and support to individuals affected by someone else's addiction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work in the community to reach out to individuals who need assistance dealing with someone else's addiction.
  • Educate Niagara County communities about the different services and options available to families and loved ones dealing with addiction.
  • Assist individuals in navigating services available to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Be a liaison with hospital, treatment, family, and community providers to link individuals to proper support.
  • Facilitate community forums addressing the needs of dealing with substance use disorder.

Requirements:

  • Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) certification is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalency, or Associate degree in social work, rehabilitation counseling, psychology, or related human services field.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
