POSITION SUMMARY:
The Business Services Specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing the Credit Union's business membership and services while fostering strong relationships with current business members.
This role involves the acquisition and expansion of business member relationships through proactive outreach, networking, and collaboration with Credit Union staff. The specialist will exhibit proficiency in all business-related products, services, policies, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and nurture business relationships using a consultative approach through outreach, cross-selling, networking, and collaboration with Credit Union personnel.
- Act as a representative of the Credit Union, providing courteous and professional service while ensuring prompt and accurate transaction processing.
- Open and manage various deposit accounts, including business checking and savings accounts, while adhering to regulatory requirements.
- Promote and enroll members in automated services such as Mobile Banking, ACH/WIRE Origination, Bill Pay, eStatements, and online banking access, providing necessary training and demonstrations.
- Handle cash and coin services for business members and assist with various service requests, including wire transfers and card disputes.
- Respond to member inquiries and resolve issues, directing them to the appropriate resources when necessary.
- Maintain and service existing business accounts, ensuring all documentation is collected and processed accurately.
- Generate leads for business loans and assist in processing new business account transactions.
- Participate in community events to enhance the Credit Union's visibility and identify new business opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with government regulations and internal policies.
- Educate business members and staff about available business products and services.
- Conduct regular outreach to business members to assess their financial needs and ensure satisfaction.
- Identify and manage prospects within targeted markets to drive departmental growth.
- Deliver high-quality communication and maintain strong member relationships.
- Stay informed about compliance issues and attend training as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong sales, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and delegate when necessary.
- Proficient in using personal computers and software applications, including word processing and spreadsheets.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree preferred or three years of experience in a financial institution.
- Strong communication skills are essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Positive attitude and enthusiasm towards members and the public.
