Currently, ManTech is in search of a dedicated and customer-focused Naval Architect/Marine Engineer to support various Air Cushion Vehicle (ACV) initiatives.

This role offers the potential for Remote work arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a range of design and analytical tasks related to hovercraft, ships, boats, and other marine systems for military and commercial clients.
  • Act as a lead on design and analysis projects focusing on centrifugal fans and ducted air propellers.
  • Collaborate effectively with project teams, including engineers, program managers, and CAD designers.
  • Oversee task requirements and execution timelines by developing Plans of Actions with Milestones (POAMs) with minimal supervision.
  • Regularly assess technical data to identify and resolve issues such as system interface challenges and hardware incompatibilities, providing solutions to the team.
  • Plan and execute research, development, or installation of products and systems in alignment with customer specifications, best practices, and regulatory standards.
  • Generate comprehensive reports documenting procedures and outcomes of design and analysis tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, naval architecture, or structural design, along with 4 or more years of relevant experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and/or SolidWorks.
  • Willingness to travel for ship inspections and system prototype installations as required.
  • Ability to utilize spreadsheets for programming design equations based on first principles and empirical data.
  • Capability to produce high-quality design and analysis documentation.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in fan design.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Computational Fluid Dynamics.
  • Familiarity with the US Navy, including active duty, government civilian roles, or support contracting.
  • Knowledge of composite materials, including fabrication processes and development of layup details.
  • Proficiency in creating complete and functional 3D model assemblies.
  • Ability to produce detailed, high-quality 2D drawing packages.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must possess or be eligible to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.

Physical Requirements:

  • The individual in this role must be able to remain stationary for 50% of the time.
  • Occasionally move within the office to access files, office equipment, or communicate with colleagues and management.
