Role Responsibilities:
  • The Senior Systems Engineering Associate plays a crucial role in identifying and addressing any risks or implementation obstacles that may hinder the integration, design, and engineering of systems and software. This is achieved through a comprehensive set of integrated models that adhere to the current Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF). They are responsible for interfacing with and supporting mission partners' systems engineering initiatives to meet these objectives.
  • Collaboration is key as they work to synchronize and integrate hardware and software modifications with associated systems and subsystems. They assess research and analyses to uncover options that enhance interoperability and compatibility, both internally with mission partners' components and externally with interfacing systems or within systems of systems, employing Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) techniques.
  • They partner with performance improvement specialists to facilitate the adoption of innovative operational concepts whenever systems undergo replacement, replenishment, or augmentation. Additionally, they support research and analysis for emerging technologies from various perspectives, including standards, performance, and nonfunctional analysis, which encompasses product assessment, implementation planning, testing and evaluation, tuning, and key performance indicator (KPI) identification.
  • Responsibilities also include gathering and defining requirements, comparing them to design documents, and participating in technical reviews. They engage in integration efforts and collaborate with users and colleagues in planning, developing, implementing, and supporting both new and existing systems. This role is senior in nature, requiring extensive experience in overcoming challenges related to software builds and deployments. The Senior Systems Engineering Associate will also supervise and mentor junior project and team members.
Essential Qualifications:
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in systems engineering.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or a related discipline. (This requirement can be substituted with a high school diploma accompanied by 13 years of experience or an Associate's degree with 11 years of experience.)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A Master's degree in a STEM field or a related discipline.
  • Possession of International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP) or Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) certifications.
Clearance Requirements:
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance prior to commencing this role.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
Physical Requirements:
  • The individual in this role must be capable of remaining stationary for 50% of the time. They may occasionally need to move within the office to access files, office equipment, or communicate with colleagues and management, which may involve delivering presentations.
