Overview:
The AV Field Engineer plays a crucial role in the configuration, deployment, and commissioning of audio-visual systems. This position demands advanced troubleshooting abilities and a thorough understanding of AV system design and operation. Effective communication and a professional demeanor are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the design team to ensure system functionality aligns with specifications.
  • Participate in design and scope review meetings to offer insights.
  • Work with project team members on quality assurance documentation.
  • Coordinate network documentation with project teammates.
  • Generate and assess requests for information (RFIs).

In-House Quality Assurance:

  • Organize and establish a complete system mock-up.
  • Evaluate the full functionality of the system.
  • Document any discrepancies and quality assurance paperwork.

Field Commissioning:

  • Conduct site inspections to assess installation quality.
  • Review system operations and troubleshoot any issues.
  • Collaborate with the project foreman to resolve installation challenges during commissioning.
  • Coordinate with AV programmers for necessary updates or revisions.
  • Maintain communication with project managers regarding outstanding issues and client requirements.

System Walkthrough and Acceptance:

  • Complete all commissioning checklist documentation.
  • Guide end users and/or consultants through system walkthroughs.
  • Document and address any punch list items.

Training and Closeout:

  • Conduct on-site training for end users on all systems.
  • Provide technical training for the end user technical team.
  • Review all closeout documentation, including as-built drawings and user manuals.
  • Assist the project management team in securing project signoff.

Teamwork and Leadership:

  • Embrace a collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Demonstrate accountability and ownership of responsibilities.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication.
  • Exhibit self-motivation and a desire for personal growth.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Experience & Education:
    • High School Diploma required.
    • Technical School Certification or Community College preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in AV installation, commissioning, and service.

Supplemental Requirements:

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with Crestron, AMX, Extron, Biamp, and QSC.
  • Experience with AV industry software and platforms.
  • Network troubleshooting and deployment experience.
  • Organized and proactive work style.
  • Ability to interpret and understand design drawings.
  • Experience in audio tuning, equalization, and DSP programming.
  • Unified Communications (UC) experience.
  • AVIXA CTS/CTS-I certification preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.
