Key Responsibilities:

  • Support executive leadership in critical financial decisions by offering insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Prepare essential financial documents, including business reports, forecasts, and statements, to assess the organization's financial health.
  • Oversee the financial reporting and budgeting processes conducted by team members under the controller's supervision.
  • Review and analyze the company's financial reports to identify cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Stay informed about financial market trends to optimize profit margins and explore new growth avenues.
  • Enhance financial processes and workflows to boost overall productivity and efficiency.
  • Propose and implement enhancements to improve financial reporting and analytical capabilities.
  • Establish and uphold internal controls to protect company assets and ensure adherence to regulations and policies.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during the annual audit, providing necessary documentation and clarifications to support audit conclusions.
  • Monitor cash flow and liquidity requirements, devising strategies for efficient cash resource management and working capital optimization.
  • Manage multi-state and local government sales tax reporting.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong communication skills to effectively discuss financial matters with colleagues and management.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
  • Proficient in both cash and accrual accounting methods.
  • Familiarity with 2- and 3-way purchase order processes.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online.
  • Knowledge of Avalara Tax Software.
  • Experience in service and product-based companies is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Controller, ideally within a related industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance is required.
