Position Overview

As a Client Accounting Services Supervisor at HLB Gross Collins, you will be instrumental in managing daily accounting functions while ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership abilities, a comprehensive understanding of accounting practices, and a dedication to providing outstanding service to our clientele.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and execute the month-end and year-end closing activities, including bookkeeping, reconciliations, accruals, adjustments, and the preparation of financial statements for assigned clients.
  • Evaluate monthly financial reports prepared by team members and provide coaching for their professional growth.
  • Collaborate with various departments, such as tax and audit, to ensure timely and precise financial reporting.
  • Deliver fractional CFO and Controller services as required.
  • Conduct monthly and/or quarterly financial advisory sessions with clients.
  • Assist in formulating budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses to aid strategic decision-making.
  • Support senior management with special projects and initiatives as necessary.
  • Utilize and adapt to software applications tailored to client requirements.
  • Engage in industry segment meetings and marketing efforts.
  • Guide and train the CAS Team through mentorship.
  • Hold monthly meetings with direct reports to assess billable budgets versus actual performance, realization, and objectives.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required; CPA designation is preferred.
  • 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with QuickBooks Online is advantageous.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the capability to effectively manage and inspire a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and integrity in managing sensitive financial data.
  • Adaptability to change and a willingness to embrace new technologies and methodologies.
