Position Summary

TMG Operating LLC is a prominent management firm, specializing in innovative solutions for various service sectors, particularly in the Oil & Gas industry. Role Responsibilities

The Accountant will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive accounting support across our diverse business units and corporate headquarters. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting general cost accounting and related functions within the accounting department.
  • Preparing essential financial documents such as balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss reports.
  • Maintaining general ledger accounts and executing reconciliations.
  • Initially focusing on Accounts Payable, with opportunities to engage in Accounts Receivable.
  • Coding invoices, establishing new accounts, reconciling accounts, and assisting in the monthly closing process.
  • Supporting both month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Managing customer accounts and overseeing accounts receivable collections.
  • Verifying invoice payments related to accounts payable and ensuring accurate account allocations.
  • Maintaining a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Identifying and suggesting improvements to accounting processes.
  • Engaging in additional duties as assigned, including collaboration with external audits and annual tax preparations.
  • Providing mentorship and training to junior accountants and the accounting team as necessary.
Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of financial and cost accounting principles.
  • Ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, particularly QuickBooks.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to work a standard weekday schedule.
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior accounting staff.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Experience in public accounting, particularly with manufacturing and construction clients.
  • Familiarity with external audits and annual tax processes.
  • Management experience is advantageous.
  • Experience working across multiple divisions is preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
  • Capability to lift up to 15 pounds as needed.
