Position Overview

The stated compensation range is based on a national-average location. Actual salary is influenced by factors such as relevant work experience, skills, and geographical location. This role is eligible for sales incentives.

CNO Financial Group is seeking a Client Relationship Manager to oversee interactions for a substantial portfolio of small market clients. The Manager will serve as the primary contact for the clients' decision-makers or main broker representatives. In this role, the Manager will advocate for the clients and ensure their ongoing success with their CNO solutions.

The Manager will act as the key liaison between the client and CNO Financial Group's Sales and Delivery teams. Success will be measured by client revenue retention, revenue growth through upselling and cross-selling, engagement with the solutions by client members, adherence to best practices, and the ability to generate client references.

This position offers a chance to cultivate trusting relationships with a diverse portfolio of clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders and leadership.
  • Understand client objectives and ensure alignment with relevant delivery resources.
  • Identify and pursue new upsell and cross-sell opportunities to align with client goals and drive revenue growth.
  • Facilitate communication initiatives to achieve client engagement and utilization targets.
  • Monitor and ensure that key client objectives are being met.
  • Engage clients with reporting tools to provide insights, ensuring they recognize the value of CNO solutions.
  • Collaborate internally to keep Product Development, Implementation, and Sales teams informed of any relevant updates.
  • Implement strategies for client retention to minimize attrition: address risks promptly and communicate effectively with sales and leadership for appropriate involvement.
  • Lead negotiations for contract renewals, typically ranging from $5k to $50k per contract.
  • Maintain a revenue base of existing business to meet CNO Financial Group's goals, typically between $100k and $500k.

This role is ideal for you if you:

  • Have a proven track record of serving small to mid-market employers.
  • Embrace the principles of being a Trusted Advisor, including critical thinking to support sound, business-focused decision-making.
  • Can manage multiple clients and initiatives simultaneously while staying organized.
  • Possess expertise in sales methodologies and relevant skill sets.
  • Collaborate effectively with both internal and client resources to devise solutions.
  • Can make a positive impression during the initial sales process.
  • Communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats, presenting confidently to large groups.
  • Quickly learn to navigate internal systems that support the role.
  • Are willing to travel as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or 4 years of experience in employee benefits account management.
  • 2 years of client services or account management experience in the employee benefits or HR sector.
  • 1 year of experience managing multiple projects or clients simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or 8 years of experience in employee benefits account management.
  • 5+ years of client services/account management experience in the employee benefits or HR sector, with a strong preference for benefits technology experience.
  • 3+ years of experience managing multiple projects or clients simultaneously.
  • 1+ years of experience with revenue responsibility (sales or inside sales).

Benefits:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match.
  • Short-term and long-term disability insurance.
  • Paid time off and corporate holidays.
  • Paid parental leave.
  • Company-paid life insurance.
