Position Overview

The Marketing Manager plays a vital role within the Development team, focusing on marketing, communication strategies, copywriting, public relations, and event coordination. This role is essential for overseeing daily marketing functions, enhancing donor engagement, and elevating the San Diego Rescue Mission's brand visibility across various platforms such as print, radio, telemarketing, digital media, and events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Development Team: Engage with team members regularly to synchronize efforts and enhance ministry initiatives.
  • Execute Marketing Strategies: Work closely with the Marketing team to implement effective communication plans.
  • Support Fundraising Initiatives: Assist in the development and execution of marketing and fundraising campaigns.
  • Manage Marketing Calendar: Ensure timely updates and coordination of marketing activities.
  • Create Original Marketing Materials: Develop compelling content and design briefs for various media.

Content Creation and Copywriting

  • Primary Copywriter: Generate impactful content that tells the Mission's story authentically.
  • Donor Communication Strategy: Collaborate with the Donor Services team to enhance communication efforts.

Event Support

  • Event Planning: Assist in organizing and promoting special events, both online and in-person.
  • Marketing Materials for Events: Create invitations, signage, and promotional items.

Public Relations and Community Engagement

  • Manage PR Activities: Coordinate public relations efforts and develop strategies to enhance community presence.

Personal Development and Leadership

  • Spiritual Growth: Engage in daily practices that reflect the Mission's values and beliefs.
  • Team Building: Contribute to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in marketing and communications, preferably in a non-profit setting.
  • Strong copywriting and communication skills, with a focus on storytelling.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms.
