Operations Manager for Manufacturing Facility

Our client is a rapidly expanding, family-owned enterprise focused on consumer packaging and food-related products. They are currently in search of an Operations Manager to lead their manufacturing facility.

The Operations Manager will be tasked with supervising all aspects of plant operations within a relatively new facility, which has been operational for a short period. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader capable of managing a streamlined team, implementing effective training programs, and optimizing production processes to fulfill the requirements of significant national clients. This position demands a strong emphasis on high-speed filling and blending operations while ensuring compliance with FDA regulations throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the facility, ensuring efficient and high-speed production of liquid and personal care items.
  • Lead and train a production workforce of approximately 100 employees across multiple shifts, ensuring compliance with FDA standards and company policies.
  • Manage maintenance and logistics operations, integrating these teams into the production workflow over time.
  • Develop and execute strategies to enhance plant efficiency, minimize downtime, and address the challenges associated with rapid growth.
  • Act as a hands-on leader, capable of educating and organizing the team to foster a streamlined and effective production environment.
  • Collaborate closely with the executive team to align plant operations with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Oversee production timelines, ensuring the timely and accurate fulfillment of high-volume orders for major national clients.

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in plant management, particularly in high-speed filling or contract manufacturing settings.
  • Strong knowledge of FDA regulations and experience in a food or personal care product manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a lean team in a fast-paced, growth-oriented setting.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma or similar process improvement methodologies is advantageous but not essential.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with the capability to effectively organize and educate the team.
  • Experience in a single-plant environment or as a junior manager in a larger organization is preferred.
