Role Summary

The Financial Operations Manager will oversee a dedicated team responsible for comprehensive financial oversight within the organization. This role encompasses the management of the month-end closing process, the preparation of financial statements, and the production of management reports, all while ensuring compliance with internal control protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct all financial and accounting functions, including billing, accounts payable/receivable, general ledger maintenance, payroll, and adherence to GAAP standards.
  • Lead and mentor the accounts receivable team, providing training and performance evaluations.
  • Deliver effective leadership to the finance department across multiple facilities.
  • Provide extensive financial analysis and support to various organizational departments, including monthly performance assessments and expense variance analysis.
  • Research and offer expertise on complex accounting issues.
  • Ensure accuracy and quality control in financial transactions and reporting, including account reconciliations.
  • Oversee compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal financial reporting and tax obligations.
  • Collaborate with finance leadership to enhance internal financial controls.
  • Engage with senior management to provide consultative support for strategic planning through financial analysis and reporting.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, management, vendors, and clients as necessary.
  • Act as a liaison with external auditors to facilitate the timely completion of year-end financial reporting.
  • Promote a culture of innovation and serve as a role model for peers.
  • Participate in additional job-related tasks and ad hoc reporting as required.
Qualifications

Supervisory Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years in a supervisory role within an accounting or corporate finance environment is essential.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business Administration with a focus on accounting is required.
  • C.P.A. certification is preferred but not mandatory.
  • At least 5 years of experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a managerial capacity within an accounting or corporate finance team.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and technical accounting issues is required.
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Infor CSI is a plus but not essential.
Working Environment

The position is primarily office-based, with a controlled temperature environment. The role involves prolonged periods of sitting, occasional standing, and walking, as well as lifting up to 25 lbs. Regular use of hands for typing and operating office equipment is necessary, along with extended periods of viewing a computer screen. The noise level is generally low to moderate.

Travel Requirements

Minimal travel may be required for offsite meetings or training sessions.
