Assistant Director, Annual Giving Direct Marketing

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Director to join our team in the Annual Giving Direct Marketing department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the year-round operations and management of our student phone fundraising program, with a focus on increasing discretionary dollars raised and overall alumni giving participation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hiring, Training, and Retention: Collaborate with the Associate Director to coordinate the recruiting and hiring of student employees, create onboarding and performance evaluation processes, and monitor and coach students to ensure maximum quality and effectiveness.
  • Program Strategy and Operations: Assist in the development and implementation of annual fundraising and outreach strategy, work closely with the Associate Director to develop an annual calling calendar, write scripts, and track results, and analyze performance reports to strategize outreach segments.
  • Vendor & Technology Management: Manage daily use of calling software, coordinate with vendors and BC's Advancement Information Systems to maximize product features and updates, and troubleshoot software, gift processing, and technical issues.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and one to three years of directly related direct marketing experience or a combination of professional fundraising and other directly related experience with proven organizational and project management skills.
  • Preference for experience in an institution of higher education in a campaign environment or in comparable settings.
  • Aptitude for numbers, data, and analysis, and ability to motivate and manage a diverse group of student employees.
