Position Overview

The Principal Engineer, Identity and Access Management (IAM) will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic and operational framework of our IAM initiatives. Reporting directly to the Chief Information Security Officer, this position will be integral in aligning IAM strategies with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. **Strategic Leadership**: Direct the formulation and implementation of architecture and engineering roadmaps for IAM services on a global scale, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
2. **Collaboration**: Partner with business leaders and development teams to design, integrate, test, and deploy IAM solutions that support strategic initiatives.
3. **Standards Development**: Establish formal IAM and enterprise directory standards and procedures that comply with corporate security policies, legal requirements, and industry best practices.
4. **Governance Participation**: Actively engage in key IT Governance teams to represent IAM interests, focusing on architecture, risk management, and policy compliance.
5. **Needs Assessment**: Collaborate with executive management to evaluate both immediate and long-term IAM requirements, including multi-factor authentication and privileged access management.
6. **Access Control Management**: Ensure effective access controls are maintained through regular access reviews.
7. **Technology Research**: Investigate and recommend emerging IAM technologies and tools to meet current and future organizational needs.
8. **Vendor Relations**: Cultivate and maintain partnerships with key vendors, ensuring technology and service roadmaps are effectively utilized.
9. **Subject Matter Expertise**: Serve as a trusted advisor to internal business and IT partners regarding IAM best practices.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Over 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 5 years focused on identity and access management.
- Proven management experience, including oversight of personnel, projects, budgets, and processes.
- Familiarity with IAM technologies such as automated provisioning, SSO, identity federation, and privileged management.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple concurrent projects effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating risks and strategies to executive leadership.
