Position Overview

The Principal Engineer, Identity and Access Management (IAM) will play a pivotal role in overseeing the strategic and operational dimensions of our identity and access management initiatives. This position will report directly to the Chief Information Security Officer and will collaborate closely with business leaders to address matters related to identity and access management.

Key Responsibilities

1. **Architectural Leadership**: Spearhead the formulation and implementation of architectural and engineering roadmaps for IAM services on a global scale, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and business goals.

2. **Collaborative Design**: Partner with business stakeholders and development teams to conceptualize, integrate, test, and deploy IAM solutions that support key strategic initiatives.

3. **Standards Development**: Establish formal IAM and enterprise directory standards and procedures that comply with corporate security policies, legal and regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

4. **Governance Participation**: Actively engage in essential IT Governance teams, representing IAM interests in discussions surrounding architecture, risk management, and policy compliance.

5. **Needs Assessment**: Work alongside executive management and departmental leaders to evaluate both immediate and long-term IAM requirements, including multi-factor authentication, privileged access management, and certificate management.

6. **Access Control Management**: Ensure that appropriate access controls are maintained through regular access reviews.

7. **Technology Research**: Investigate and recommend emerging IAM technologies and tools to meet current and future organizational needs.

8. **Vendor Collaboration**: Cultivate and maintain partnerships with key vendors, ensuring that all technology and service roadmaps are understood and utilized effectively.

9. **Subject Matter Expertise**: Serve as a subject matter expert for internal business and IT partners, providing guidance and insights on IAM-related matters.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Over 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 5 years focused on identity and access management.
- Proven management and leadership experience, including overseeing personnel, projects, budgets, and processes.
- CISSP certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Demonstrated success with current and emerging IAM technologies, including automated provisioning/de-provisioning, SSO, identity federation, multifactor authentication, and privileged access management.
- Experience in enterprise directory architecture and design best practices.
- Familiarity with federated identity and web services security concepts such as SAML, OpenID, and OAuth.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, capable of managing multiple concurrent projects.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to convey risks to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
