Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

Our projects encompass various domains of interest, with core competencies that include but are not limited to:
  • Program analysis, focusing on understanding programs, identifying vulnerabilities, and implementing remediation strategies.
  • Malware analysis and reverse engineering techniques.
  • Development of resilient networking solutions to support cyber mission objectives.
  • Implementation of software-defined networking for cyber defense and deception.
  • Utilization of artificial intelligence, including reasoning, probabilistic inference, and machine learning.
Required Qualifications
  • 5 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree; 3 years with a Master's degree; no experience required with a PhD.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related scientific/engineering field.
  • A strong willingness and capability to rapidly learn new subject matter areas.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, Go, or similar.
  • Familiarity with operating systems including Linux, MacOS, Windows, and mobile platforms.
  • Understanding of contemporary computer networking technologies.
  • Experience with modern development practices and tools (e.g., Git, Subversion, CI/CD toolchains).
Additional Skills (not mandatory, but advantageous):
  • Leadership experience in software development projects or research teams.
  • Background as a Principal Investigator on Department of Defense or Intelligence Community research initiatives.
  • Experience in business development, encompassing technical marketing, idea generation, and drafting proposals and whitepapers for new projects.
  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas:
    • Program Analysis
    • Design and/or analysis of computer networking protocols
    • Emulation, containerization, and virtualization of compute and network systems
    • Reverse Engineering
    • Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
    • Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA)
  • Familiarity with various tools and frameworks, including:
    • Binary Analysis Tools such as GHIDRA, Hex-Rays IDA, Binary Ninja, Angr
    • Debugging and Sandboxing tools like Cuckoo Sandbox, OllyDBG, WinDbg
    • CNO toolsets, including Metasploit and Cobalt Strike
    • Network emulation frameworks such as CORE, EMANE, MiniNet
    • Container and orchestration solutions like Docker, Docker Swarm, Kubernetes, Terraform
    • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, OpenStack)
  • Familiarity with DevOps and Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience within the U.S. Department of Defense or Intelligence Community research landscape.
  • Operational experience in Computer Network Operations (CNO).

Compensation Range

The typical salary range for this position is $112,000 - $179,000, based on experience and other relevant factors.
