Position: Service and Parts Cashier

Department: Administrative and Service

Reports to: Controller

Overview:

The primary role of the service cashier is to finalize service repair orders, process payments, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Finalize all completed repair orders and inform the service advisor or customer of the total charges.
  2. Verify the accuracy of repair orders, ensuring the correct labor costs and parts are documented.
  3. Adhere to proper procedures for collecting shop supplies, fuel, lubricants, and sales taxes.
  4. Prepare accurate billing information for charge and extended warranty repair orders, including necessary documentation.
  5. Maintain an organized filing system for quick access to repair order copies.
  6. Reconcile daily collections with the cash drawer balance, documenting any discrepancies.
  7. Ensure timely assistance to each customer and report any dissatisfaction regarding billing or service to management.
  8. Assist service advisors, the service manager, and the receptionist with customer appointments or messages as needed.

Required Skills and Physical Demands:

  • Strong mathematical and clerical abilities.
  • Experience in customer service, cashiering, or accounting roles.
  • Effective verbal communication skills with customers and team members.
