Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of 30-40 drivers, ensuring optimal route management and service quality while prioritizing safety.
- Develop and maintain robust relationships with your team based on trust and accountability.
- Effectively coordinate the dispatch of drivers and freight in line with company protocols and regulatory standards.
- Provide ongoing coaching regarding Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as safety, operational performance, and vehicle upkeep.
- Collaborate with planners to adjust freight logistics and manage communication regarding changes.
- Address the needs of both internal and external clients through timely responses to inquiries and proactive freight tracking.
- Guide your team towards achieving safety compliance and operational success.
- Adapt to the evolving landscape of the transportation industry with critical thinking.
- Ensure high levels of driver retention through engagement and support.
- Work in partnership with drivers, planners, and customer service to fulfill service commitments.
- Authorize driver compensation and oversee the submission of driver bills of lading (BOL).
- Make informed decisions and provide effective solutions to driver challenges.
