Job Summary

St. Norbert College, a nationally-ranked, private, Catholic, liberal arts college, is seeking a highly skilled Food Service Operations Manager to support the operation of the Campus Center Food Court, Phil's. This is a working supervisor position that requires a strong background in food service management, leadership, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and oversee the work of student staff in the Phil's Dining area, ensuring excellent customer service and quality food preparation.
  • Manage food preparation, inventory, and ordering, ensuring standardized portions and quality control.
  • Train student staff to work at all stations, including grill, fryer, subs, and cash register.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the dining and food preparation areas.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory, stock food, and supplies, and perform daily cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • Supervise and mentor student staff, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of food service experience with strong short order cooking experience.
  • 1 year of supervisory and cash handling experience.
  • Ability to obtain Serve Safe certification/training.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced environment and fostering a diverse and inclusive team culture.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of computer programs, including Microsoft Office and Google Apps.
  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks and assignments.
  • Skilled in basic math computations and able to exercise good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and provide excellent customer service.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods, with occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures and move within the work area with occasional meetings in other buildings on campus.
