Position Summary:
The role involves executing fitting and welding duties with precision and efficiency. Additional responsibilities may include various fabrication processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct welding tasks upon successful completion of the welding assessment.
- Operate essential equipment within the Fabrication department.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on all relevant machinery.
- Utilize forklifts or aisle stackers for inventory management.
- Adhere to established Standard Operating Procedures.
- Assist in maintaining inventory management systems.
- Communicate part shortages to supervisors and team leaders.
- Support inventory accuracy and the 5-S program.
- Follow all safety protocols and PPE guidelines.
- Keep work areas organized and clean.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Advanced Responsibilities:
- Exhibit proficiency in all required tasks.
- Execute welding tasks across various materials upon passing the welding assessment.
- Develop and implement operational enhancements to optimize cost, quality, and throughput.
- Mentor new team members using effective communication skills.
- Assist leadership in coordinating production tasks among team members.
- Collaborate with engineering on product development and enhancement projects.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- Technical training or relevant experience is preferred for advanced roles.
- Completion of welding courses is advantageous.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in reading blueprints is essential.
- Basic math skills, particularly with fractions and decimals, are required.
- A strong mechanical aptitude is necessary.
- A minimum of two years of welding experience is preferred.
- Successful completion of on-site assessments is required.
Quality Assurance Responsibilities:
- Proactively address potential non-conformities in products and processes.
- Document and report issues related to product quality.
- Recommend solutions through appropriate channels.
Physical Requirements:
This position may involve exposure to typical office conditions as well as manufacturing environments. Employees will be required to stand for extended periods, use hands for various tasks, and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly, with occasional lifting of up to 70 pounds. Employees will also need to navigate machinery and perform adjustments as necessary.
