The Infrastructure Solutions Engineer plays a vital role within the Technical Operations Team. This position is tasked with comprehensive technical support for intricate enterprise-level applications utilizing a variety of technologies, both on-premises and in cloud environments. Responsibilities encompass daily operations, collaborating with business units to strategize, design, and deploy systems, as well as overseeing ongoing maintenance, enhancements, and automation efforts. This role will leverage principles of systems reliability engineering, DevOps methodologies, and IT service management disciplines to ensure a highly efficient and available production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Employ expertise to provision enterprise-level software and services across on-premises and cloud infrastructures, ensuring optimal resource allocation for each product or solution.
  • Provide technical leadership in operating system performance monitoring, optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Lead technical efforts in configuring web and application servers, focusing on performance monitoring, optimization, clustering, and debugging.
  • Act as a liaison to the DevOps team, assessing new applications and systems for operational best practices and technical viability against existing standards.
  • Engage in major incident management, offering technical insights to analyze data from operating systems, applications, middleware, and performance management tools, with a focus on identifying failure points and restoring normal operations.
  • Contribute to a team responsible for Incident Management, Request Fulfillment, Problem Management, IT Operations Control, Change Evaluation, and Change Fulfillment.
  • Assist in developing clear and precise documentation for Level 1 and Level 2 teams to facilitate the resolution of straightforward to moderate incidents without escalation.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in supporting and/or deploying enterprise-scale solutions, demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • At least 2 years of experience in deploying and/or supporting systems and applications in a cloud environment, with a preference for Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure.
  • Proven proficiency in setting up, operating, and fine-tuning various performance management and monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, SiteScope, Splunk, New Relic, and Grafana.
  • Experience with multiple operating systems, including various Linux distributions, and familiarity with containerized application deployment strategies like Docker, ECS, and Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of code management, configuration, and deployment tools, including Chef, Rundeck, Jenkins, Git, GitHub, Terraform, CloudFormation, and Azure Resource Manager.
  • Knowledge of certificate management for various solutions, including SSL/TLS and client certificates for both on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with full-stack application operational concepts, including Java applications, middleware, NodeJS, Angular, and React.
  • Understanding of computer networks and infrastructure, including HTTP, TCP/IP, SNMP, DNS, routing, switching, and load balancing.
  • Awareness of current software development lifecycle (SDLC) concepts and best practices, including CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) processes, particularly incident management, problem management, and knowledge management. ITIL Certification is preferred.
  • Knowledge of problem analysis best practices, especially Kepner-Tragoe methodologies.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively across diverse corporate and client environments.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, enabling the ability to work in a fast-paced, self-motivated team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
