The Microsoft Federal division was created to meet the distinct mission, legal, regulatory requirements, and procurement protocols of the United States Government (USG). Microsoft Federal is dedicated to ensuring that its resources, including suitably qualified, experienced, and certified personnel, are available to address the evolving needs of the USG. Customer Success Focus

Microsoft aims to assist customers in their digital transformation journeys by leveraging the capabilities of Microsoft Cloud solutions and support services. To achieve this, Microsoft invests in a specialized Customer Success team dedicated to helping clients realize their business objectives.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Sociology, Psychology, Computer Science, or a related field AND a minimum of 2 years of experience in customer success, solution delivery, practice management, customer-facing consulting, or portfolio management.
  • Experience managing complex technical engagements and/or program management successfully.

Additional Requirements

The ideal candidate must possess an active U.S. Government Top Secret Security Clearance. Meeting Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements is essential for this role. Failure to maintain or obtain the necessary clearance and/or customer screening may lead to employment consequences.

Clearance Verification

This position necessitates successful verification of the stated security clearance to comply with federal government customer requirements. Clearance verification information will be requested prior to extending an employment offer.

Citizenship Verification

This role requires verification of U.S. citizenship due to legal restrictions. The position supports federal, state, and/or local government agency customers and is subject to specific citizenship-based requirements as mandated by applicable law.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a Program Manager or Engagement Manager role focusing on Cloud and software/services solutions, particularly with Department of Defense clients.
  • Proven ability to drive collaborative decision-making, resolve conflicts, and ensure effective communication, both verbally and in writing. Strong presentation skills are essential for engaging with diverse audiences and management levels.
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) or equivalent Project Management certification.
  • ProSci or equivalent change management certification.
  • Familiarity with technologies such as Cloud, mobile, web application development, and cloud-native application architecture. Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure, M365) or equivalent from competitors are advantageous.

Compensation

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $83,400 - $167,800 annually, with variations for specific locations.

Role Responsibilities

As a Customer Success Account Manager (CSAM), you will be the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring their success through effective management of program deliveries and customer relationships. The main business priority is the successful adoption and productive utilization of Microsoft cloud technologies by our customers.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Meeting support contract obligations by ensuring quality planning and delivery of support services to achieve customer business outcomes.
  • Collaborating with customers and account teams to prioritize and plan engagements across cloud and on-premises workloads.
  • Defining outcomes to enhance the health, performance, and business capabilities of prioritized workloads to maximize customer value.
  • Building strong relationships with key customer Software Engineering and IT decision-makers to foster long-term cloud adoption and advocacy.
  • Managing orchestration, customer sponsor relationships, and stakeholder communication for prioritized engagements.
  • Tracking, escalating, and planning for the resolution of technical challenges while providing feedback to enhance our products and solutions.

Leadership and Relationship Building

This role demands strong communication skills and the ability to exhibit executive presence in diverse customer scenarios. The CSAM will demonstrate leadership within teams composed of Microsoft, partner, and customer resources engaged in delivering complex solutions for overall customer success.

Program Management Skills

Expertise in planning for a portfolio of engagements, cross-group collaboration, resource orchestration, communication, analytical capabilities, and meticulous attention to detail is required.
