Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to provide strategic, financial, and operational leadership for the Kentucky Society of Association Executives, specifically for the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML).

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning:
    • Advise and guide the AAML Board in defining its long-term strategy and goals, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and vision.
    • Develop, present, and recommend execution and operational plans and programs to the Board and committees, leveraging industry best practices and market trends.
  • Financial Management:
    • Plan, direct, monitor, and analyze AAML's finances to achieve financial objectives, ensuring fiscal responsibility and transparency.
    • Work with the Executive Committee, Treasurer, and Board of Governors to develop and approve the annual operating budget, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Governance:
    • Provide governance support and leadership expertise to the Executive Committee, Board of Governors, Chapter leaders, and Committee Chairs, ensuring effective decision-making and accountability.
    • Advise, guide, and mentor Directors, promoting professional development and succession planning.
  • Operations Management:
    • Provide administrative oversight of ongoing association operations and the Fellows application and examination process, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Monitor, evaluate, and optimize the performance of association programs against goals, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Relationship Management:
    • Manage positive relationships with the Executive Committee, Board of Governors, and volunteers, fostering a culture of collaboration and respect.
    • Apply Smithbucklin client stewardship principles, ensuring exceptional service and support to members and stakeholders.
  • People Management:
    • Manage a team of senior leaders across each function of the organization, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities.
    • Assign and supervise work, evaluate performance, and develop individuals, promoting a culture of excellence and accountability.
  • Manage Growth:
    • Oversee development, implementation, marketing, and evaluation of programs and services designed to grow membership, create member value, advance association priorities, and grow non-dues revenue.
    • Act externally in the field as the chief business development officer to increase engagement partner support, sponsorship, and participation in AAML.
  • Oversee Messaging & Brand Management:
    • Oversee the development of AAML's internal and external messaging, ensuring consistency and alignment with the organization's brand promise and value proposition.
    • Communicate with volunteers and staff regarding the association, promoting a culture of transparency and accountability.
  • Develop Strategic Alliances:
    • Identify partners in the family law ecosystem that can help achieve AAML's goals, fostering collaborative relationships and mutually beneficial partnerships.
    • Develop and manage strategic partnerships, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and values.
  • Manage Service Contracts:
    • Recommend and review service provider selection as required to meet client organization-specific needs, ensuring quality and value.
    • Manage service provider contract administration, including setting performance metrics for desired outcomes.
