Job Summary:

As a Principal Unified Communications Consulting Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise in Unified Communications (UC) and collaboration technologies. You will work closely with other team members to design, implement, and optimize UC solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams, including network engineers, security specialists, and system architects. You will assess client needs, recommend architecture improvements, and ensure seamless communication across domains. You will specialize in UC technologies such as Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Cisco Unity Connection, and Cisco Webex. You will supervise the UC Engineers in O&M, Innovation, and special projects across the program and provide guidance on uniquely challenging issues in UC. You will assist in the day-to-day operations, troubleshoot issues, and maintain UC systems. You will work together to deliver reliable and efficient communication services. You will assist and advise the UCEs, network engineers, and cyber security experts on voice and video communications solutions. You will advise on projects related to UC, video conferencing, instant messaging, and presence. You will ensure that communication tools are integrated seamlessly and meet security requirements. You will be an expert in Unified communications, Collaboration design, Edge services, Endpoints and user management, Configuration, Troubleshooting, and Integration. You will focus on designing and optimizing network infrastructure across different security domains. You will address challenges related to data flow, security policies, and interoperability. You will cross-domain network architects work closely with UCEs to align UC solutions with overall network architecture.

Requirements:

Cisco Certified Internet Expert (CCIE) Collaboration certificate
DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification: Security+ CE certification or equivalent Windows 10 certification – MCSA or Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate (MDAA)

Clearance Required:
Must have active Top-Secret clearance with SCI or SCI eligibility

Minimum Years of Experience:
15 years of Experience

Preferred:
Deep understanding of Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM)
Proficiency in Cisco Unified Contact Center Express (UCCX) or Enterprise (UCCE)
CCNP Collaboration
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including LAN/WAN, QoS, and MPLS
Experience with Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls, particularly in relation to voice and video integration
Experience with voice gateways, SIP trunks, and ISDN circuits
Expertise in call control protocols (SIP, SCCP, H.323)
Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
