Lead Technical Architect

TETER, Inc. is in search of an accomplished Senior Technical Architect to spearhead the technical execution of various projects, guiding them from initial concept through to final delivery. The Senior Technical Architect will work closely with the Project Manager, who will liaise with clients and oversee the project as a whole.
As the Architect of Record (AOR), the Senior Technical Architect will lead the production team, which includes job captains and design professionals, while generating essential project documentation such as plans, sections, details, and specifications.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in managing large-scale projects where the roles of Architect of Record and Project Manager are distinctly separated.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architectural Leadership: Deliver architectural and technical guidance, ensuring that solutions align with client objectives and meet TETER's high standards of quality.
- Technical Oversight: Oversee the creation of technical drawings by junior architects and technicians, providing constructive feedback and revisions.
- Comprehensive Documentation: Develop detailed architectural drawings, plans, and specifications using both traditional and digital design methodologies. Ensure that all construction documentation adheres to quality assurance protocols and best practices.
- Design Solutions: Utilize technical expertise to tackle design challenges, enhance project efficiency, and ensure adherence to industry regulations.
- Quality Assurance: Perform thorough reviews of project drawings, identify potential discrepancies, resolve conflicts, and ensure alignment with design intent and industry standards.
- Material Research: Conduct research on materials and building systems, assessing and selecting appropriate project-related materials.
- Site Coordination: Participate in on-site visits, field assessments, and project meetings. Prepare and manage the review of contractor schedules, shop drawing submissions, and material samples.
- Cost Analysis: Assist the Project Manager and/or Principal Architect in formulating estimates of probable costs and defining the scope of work and fees.
- Team Development: Support team members across various markets and disciplines. Mentor junior staff and facilitate their professional growth through training and coaching.
Qualifications:
- Experience: A minimum of 15 years in a licensed Architect role.
- License: Must hold a valid California Architect license.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Bachelor of Science in Architecture, or completion of a professional development program leading to architectural licensure.
- Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of construction document development across all project documentation phases, including Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Documents for complex projects.
- Expertise in programming and construction administration.
- Specialized knowledge in various construction sectors: Commercial, Institutional, Medical, Higher Education, etc.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD/Revit, with the ability to navigate and interpret documents preferred.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities to engage with owners, contractors, consultants, and team members.
- Time Management: Strong time management capabilities, with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.
Supervisory Duties:
- Manage staff assigned to projects, including reviewing their work and providing feedback.
- Guide junior staff, offering development opportunities through mentorship and training.

Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated salary range for this position is $125,100-140,500 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on licensure, experience, qualifications, geographic location, business needs, and other job-related factors as permitted by law.
