Position Summary

As a Lead Traffic Engineering Specialist, you will be instrumental in executing significant projects for various agencies and private sector clients. Your responsibilities will encompass overseeing traffic engineering initiatives, managing project timelines and budgets, driving business development efforts, and maintaining client communications. You will also be involved in traffic signal design, signage and pavement marking, lighting design, and conducting traffic impact, operations, and safety assessments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and/or execute traffic analysis and design projects of varying complexity, ensuring adherence to budget and schedule.
  • Prepare comprehensive cost estimates, reports, and technical documentation.
  • Identify upcoming project opportunities and engage with clients to gather valuable insights.
  • Draft letters of interest and relevant sections of Technical Proposals.
  • Participate in interviews for project shortlisting.
  • Collaborate effectively with other engineers and consultants.
  • Communicate project progress and technical details to clients.
  • Represent VIBE at industry-related events.
  • Guide the activities of junior engineers.
  • Engage in office-wide social and volunteer initiatives.
  • Conduct Quality Control on deliverables prepared by team members.

Qualifications


• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering (or equivalent)


• 8-10+ years of relevant experience


• Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Florida (or ability to obtain within 6 months through reciprocity)


• Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills


• Experience in traffic engineering design and analysis


• Proficiency in MicroStation software


• Familiarity with traffic analysis tools such as Synchro/SimTraffic and HCS.

Preferred Qualifications


• PTOE Certification


• Active involvement in the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE)


• Experience with signal timing or Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)


• Previous experience with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT)
