Position Summary

As a Lead Traffic Engineering Specialist, you will be instrumental in delivering significant projects for various agencies and private developers. Your responsibilities will include overseeing traffic engineering tasks, managing project timelines, fostering business development, and maintaining client communications. You will be involved in traffic signal design, signage and pavement marking, lighting design, as well as conducting traffic impact, operations, and safety studies.

At VIBE, we prioritize the development of our team members. You will mentor junior engineers, providing them with technical guidance and training to support their professional advancement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and/or prepare traffic analysis and design projects of varying complexities, with a focus on budget adherence and schedule management.
  • Prepare cost estimates, reports, and technical documentation.
  • Identify upcoming project opportunities and engage with clients to gather valuable insights.
  • Draft letters of interest and sections for Technical Proposals.
  • Participate in shortlist interviews.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and consultants to ensure project success.
  • Communicate project status and technical details effectively with clients.
  • Represent VIBE at industry-related events.
  • Supervise the activities of junior engineers.
  • Engage in office-wide, social, and volunteer events.
  • Conduct Quality Control on deliverables prepared by others.

Qualifications


• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering (or equivalent)


• 8-10+ years of relevant experience


• Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Florida (or ability to obtain within 6 months by reciprocity)


• Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills


• Experience in traffic engineering design and studies


• Proficiency in MicroStation


• Familiarity with traffic analysis tools such as Synchro/SimTraffic and HCS.

Preferred Qualifications


• PTOE Certification


• Active involvement in the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE)


• Experience with signal timing or Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)


• Experience with Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT)
