Your Contributions
- Independently assist in gathering, compiling, and analyzing data from various sources such as surveys, blueprints, GIS data, and other matrices for project development and design.
- Conduct professional traffic engineering assessments, including investigations and inspections of site conditions, roadways, intersections, signage, signals, and transportation corridors to ensure compliance with relevant standards and permits.
- Support the development of innovative technologies, monitoring devices, and design requirements to enhance safety and functionality for end-users and transportation systems.
- Provide technical assistance on engineering, design, and construction issues by verifying site characteristics.
- Draft technical reports summarizing research findings and conclusions, ensuring documentation is accurate and comprehensive.
- Collaborate with technical staff and project managers on risk identification and assessment, contributing to design concepts and improvement activities.
- Work effectively with cross-functional teams to execute project tasks.
- Assist in preparing work plans and coordinating field/site work.
- Complete necessary training for assigned responsibilities.
- Collaborate with engineers and planners on projects funded by various infrastructure authorities.
- Exercise ethical decision-making regarding company resources and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct.
- Take on additional responsibilities as needed based on business requirements.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a closely related field.
- 7 to 10 years of relevant experience post-education.
- Engineer license is mandatory.
- Extensive knowledge of traffic engineering design principles and their application to project work.
- Experience in traffic planning, design, and construction management.
- Familiarity with transportation construction laws, codes, and compliance practices.
- Analytical mindset with sound judgment in decision-making.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with diverse audiences.
- Self-motivated with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic proficiency in technical writing and relevant software tools.
- Experience with design software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, and ArcGIS.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to health and safety policies.
- Flexibility to work schedules that may extend beyond typical hours.
- Willingness to travel as required by project needs.
Preferred
- Master's Degree in Engineering.
- Experience in Traffic design including Signing/Marking and Signalization.
- Active participation in local professional organizations.
